Coarsely chop the onion and ham finely dice the garlic and put everything in a bowl.
Slice the mushrooms and set aside.
Heat the canola oil in a non-stick frying pan over medium heat. Fry the ham, onions garlic and thyme until the ham is crispy and the onions turn translucent.
Add the mushrooms and fry for approx. 5 minutes until the mushrooms are golden brown.
Cook the pasta according to the package instructions.
Deglaze with vegetable broth and let simmer for approx. 5 minutes. Stir in the cream cheese and let simmer for 2 more minutes. Turn of the heat and season with salt and pepper.
Spoon the pasta into the sauce and serve. Chop the basil and top your pasta with it.
