Finely dice the vegetables and put in a bowl.
Heat the olive oil in a pot over medium heat. Fry the veggie mince, stirring occasionally until it starts to brown.
Add the vegetables and fry until the onions turn translucent.
Stir in the tomato paste and red wine and let simmer until reduced to half.
Add the vegetable broth and spices.
Add the chopped tomatoes and let simmer for approx. 15 minutes. Stir occasionally.
Heat the canola oil in a non-stick frying pan over medium heat. Fry the gnocchi until golden brown and set aside.
Finely chop the basil. Serve the gnocchi with the sauce and top with the basil.
